Jelil Bouraoui became a member of the IFAC Board in November 2007. Mr. Bouraoui has also served as member of the IFAC Developing Nations Committee (formerly the Developing Nations Permanent Task Force) since 2004. He is also a former member of IFAC's Transnational Auditors Committee and a founding member of the Forum of Firms. Mr. Bouraoui has also been elected to the Pan African Federation of Accountants as of May 2011.

Mr. Bouraoui has more than 30 years of experience in the accountancy profession. He is currently the managing partner at Moore Stephens Jelil Bouraoui & Co. He is also a former member of the Tunisian Economic and Social Council, the Ordre des Experts Comptables de Tunisie Ethics Committee, and on the European Executive committee and technical committee within Moore Stephens. He is honorary consul of the republic of Estonia in Tunisia.

Mr. Bouraoui holds degrees in both economics and accounting.
