Albert Au became a member of the IFAC Small and Medium Practices (SMP) Committee in April 2009. He was nominated by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA).
Mr. Au is currently the chair of BDO Limited and a past president of the HKICPA. Mr. Au is also the vice chair of the Hong Kong Coalition of Professional Services Limited and an independent non-executive director of the Hong Kong International Theme Parks Limited.
Mr. Au has been appointed by the chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to serve on the following public bodies: chair of the Corruption Prevention Advisory Committee and member of the Advisory Committee on Corruption of the Independent Commission Against Corruption; member of the Air Transport Licensing Authority; member of the General Committee of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries; member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority; and member of the Hong Kong Productivity Council and chair of its Audit Committee.
Mr. Au is a fellow of the HKIPCA and a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Society of Chinese Accountants and Auditors.
