Associate Professor AR Zafer Sayar is the Chief Executive Officer of the Union of Chambers of Certified Public Accountants of Turkey (TÜRMOB), a position he has held since 2009. Associate Professor Sayar has more than 20 years of experience as a capital markets, accounting, and auditing specialist in the public sector.

Previously, Associate Professor Sayar served as the Chief Accountant at the Capital Markets Board of Turkey from 2003 to 2006. He was also the Secretary General and Vice President at the Turkish Accounting Standards Board from 2001 to 2007.

Associate Professor Sayar has a BA from Hacettepe University Economics Department (Turkey) as the honored student, an MBA from Ankara University Business Administration Department (Turkey), an MBA from the Peter Drucker Management Center at Claremont Graduate University (US), and a Ph.D. from Hacettepe University Business Administration Department. He became an Associate Professor in the field of accounting and finance in 2011.

Associate Professor Sayar has contributed written two books and many articles for major publications. He has also given accounting and finance lectures at the Turkish universities Bilkent University, Middle East Technical University, and TOBB University of Economics and Technology since 2003.
