Nominated by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI, formerly the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India), Athalanallur Natarajan Raman became a member of the Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Committee in January 2010. Mr. Raman previously served on the committee from 1995 to 1997 and on the IFAC PAIB Review Task Force.
Mr. Raman has worked extensively in the field of management accounting—writing and speaking avidly on topics relating to management accounting, enterprise governance, and cost management. He currently works as a consultant on management accounting topics with a focus on activity-based costing and target costing in India. He is a founding member of the Total Cost Management (TCM) Division of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Furthermore, Mr. Raman is a former president of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), where he played a pivotal role in promoting the work of the IFAC PAIB Committee in the Asian region.
Mr. Raman is a member of the ICAI, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka.
