Carman Lapointe, US, IAASB ISA 610 Task Force

Ms. Lapointe was appointed United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Internal Oversight Services in September 2010. Previously, Ms. Lapointe was Auditor General of The World Bank Group and held chief oversight positions in the International Fund for Agriculture Development and a number of Canadian crown corporations, including Canada Post, the Bank of Canada, and Export Development Canada.

In 1994-1995, Ms. Lapointe served as chair of the Institute of Internal Auditors. She has also served on the audit committees of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, and on the Criteria of Control Board for the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

A Canadian national, Ms. Lapointe is a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and holds a Business Ethics Certificate from Colorado State University. She has been honored nationally and internationally for professional achievements and distinguished service.
