Ms. Carol Bellringer joined the IFAC Board in November 2013. She was nominated by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA).

Ms. Bellringer was appointed Manitoba's Auditor General in 2006. Her office serves the elected officials of the Provincial Legislature in Manitoba, Canada, conducting financial statement audits, performance audits, and investigations.

Ms. Bellringer is currently a member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, which sets Canadian standards for her profession, and sits on the Advisory Board of the Manitoba Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors, as well as the board and governance committee of the Manitoba Cardiac Institute (Reh-Fit) Inc.

From 2002-2006, Carol held the position of Director of Private Funding at the University of Manitoba, was a member of the board and then chair of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, was a board member and audit committee chair at Manitoba Hydro, and was a member of the audit committee at Cancer Care Manitoba.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Bellringer worked for KPMG (then Peat Marwick Mitchell) in Montreal, Toronto, and Winnipeg before joining Manitoba's Provincial Auditor's Office in 1988. She then spent 6 years in Warsaw, Poland.

Ms. Bellringer is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and a Fellow with the CICA. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University in Montreal and an MBA from the University of Quebec at Montreal and the Warsaw School of Economics.
