Ms. Carol Bellringer joined the IFAC Board in November 2013. She was nominated by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), now CPA Canada.
Ms. Bellringer sits on the Advisory Board of the Manitoba Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors, as well as the board and Audit Committee of the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, Inc. and is an honorary board member of the Westland Foundation. She is also the president of Bellringer Holdings, Inc.
From 2002 to 2006, Ms. Bellringer was director of private funding at the University of Manitoba; a member of the board and then chair of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra; a board member and audit committee chair at Manitoba Hydro; and a member of the Audit Committee at Cancer Care Manitoba.
Ms. Bellringer was appointed Manitoba's auditor general in 2006 and retired from that position in March 2014. She served the elected officials of the Provincial Legislature in Manitoba, Canada conducting financial statement audits, performance audits, and investigations from 2006 to 2014, as well as from 1988 to 1996 before moving to Warsaw, Poland.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Bellringer worked for KPMG (then Peat Marwick Mitchell) in Montreal, Toronto, and Winnipeg.
Ms. Bellringer is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and a Fellow with the CICA. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University in Montreal and an MBA from the University of Quebec at Montreal and the Warsaw School of Economics.
