Fabrizio Mocavini is the head of unit in the research division of the Italian Ministero dell'Economia e delle Finanze Ragioneria generale dello Stato Servizio (Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, State General Accounting Department, or MEF-SGAD) and carries out research in performance measurement, public sector internal financial control, and accounting standards. He is also responsible for relations with other countries and with international organizations. Over the last fifteen years, Mr. Mocavini has also represented the MEF through participation in several international meetings, including for the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development and the European Union (EU).
Mr. Mocavini is a project leader and expert in various EU twinning projects in the fields of budget management, financial control, and public accounting, working on projects with Bulgaria, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic, and Turkey. He is also an auditor of public entities and private companies owned by Italian public local governments.
Mr. Mocavini entered the MEF-SGAD in 1985, working with state budget management and Italian public accounting reforms until 2003.
Mr. Mocavini has a degree in Economics from Sapienza – Università di Roma and is a Chartered Accountant.
