Hans Verkruijsse, IAASB XBRL Task Force

Dr. Verkruijsse holds a position as professor in Accounting Information Systems at Tilburg University (Netherlands) and is a partner at Ernst & Young Accountants LLP.

Dr. Verkruijsse also holds the following positions: chair of the XBRL Netherlands Jurisdiction; chair of the Ethical Committee of the Nederlandse Orde van Register EDP-Auditors (Dutch Institute of IT Auditors); member of the International Steering Committee of XBRL International; chair of the XBRL Steering Committee of Ernst & Young Netherlands; member of the several Assurance Taskforces in relation to XBRL, including XBRL International, the Koninklijk Nederlands Instituut van Registeraccountants (Royal NIVRA), and Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens; and a member of the International Advisory Board of DePaul University’s Center for Global Accountancy Education, Benchmarking, and Research (US).

Additionally, Dr. Verkruijsse is involved in two international research projects, one aimed at the influence of XBRL on the financial statement audit and the necessity of drafting specific XBRL auditing standards and the other aimed at the development of the Global Accountancy Development Index.

Dr. Verkruijsse earned his Ph.D. in professional judgment of auditors in public practice at Maastricht University (Netherlands). He is qualified as a Dutch CPA and as an IT auditor.
