Ian Rushby became a member of the Professional Accountants in Business Committee in January 2012. He was nominated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Mr. Rushby is currently chair of the Whole of Government Accountants Assurances Committee at the UK Ministry of Treasury. He was a non-executive director and chair of the Audit Committee at the UK Ministry of Defence until July 2011, and continues to hold a number of non-executive directorships in the corporate and not-for-profit sectors.

Mr. Rushby worked for BP plc from 1977 to 2008, where he held various commercial, finance, and control positions, including chief financial officer, exploration and production auditor, and group general auditor.

Ian Rushby qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1974.
