Isaac Njuguna joined the International Accounting Education Standards Board in January 2014. He was nominated by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
Mr. Njuguna is currently the Deputy Director in charge of quality assurance and accreditation at the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB). He is also a member of the statutory Registration and Quality Assurance Committee (RQAC), which operates underICPAK. RQAC registers professional accountants in Kenya and undertakes quality assurance on professional engagements. Previously, he was a member of the Training and Development Committee of ICPAK.
He has over 15 years’ experience as a trainer and examiner of professional accountants. He has also served on various advisory panels on professional accounting education, including with the World Bank – Kenya office, University of Nairobi School of Business, Treasury and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. He has also been involved in various benchmarking activities on professional accountancy education including in United Kingdom and Australia.
Mr. Njuguna is a member of ICPAK and holds a BCom. degree from the University of Nairobi and an MBA (Finance) from the same university. He is currently undertaking his Ph.D. thesis at Kenyatta University.
