Jaydeep Narendra Shah became a member of the International Accounting Education Standards Board in January 2012. He was nominated by the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI), where he is president for 2012-2013 after sitting on the Central Council since 2004.

Mr. Shah is also a technical advisor for IFAC Board member Ganapathy Ramaswamy.

A practicing Chartered Accountant, Mr. Shah focuses on small- and medium-sized practices at M/s Shah Chari & Co. He is also the vice president of ICAI, where he was previously the chairman of Board of Studies, academic wing; vice chairman of several committees; and a Central Council member.

Since 2004, Mr. Shah is currently a member of the board of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA), which covers eight professional accountancy organizations from five countries, namely Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Mr. Shah is also chair of the SAFA Committee on Education, Training & CPD (continuing professional development) and a member of the Nominations Committee of XBRL International.

Mr. Shah is a graduate of Nagpur University (India), where he was awarded the Gold Medal for Standing First in the Order of Merit in M.com. In addition, he served for three years as a member of the Board of Studies, Accounts, and Statistics at Nagpur University.
