Job Title: IFAC Technical Advisor for Norunn Byrkjeland
Since January 2010,Jens Røderhas served as the CEO and Secretary General of the Nordic Federation of Public Accountants (NRF). In this capacity, he serves as technical advisor to the NRF IFAC and Fedération des Experts Comptables Européens (FEE) board members and chairs the NRF Executive Committee of CEOs.
He was a partner in Coopers & Lybrand (later PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in Denmark from 1978 to 2009 and has worked as a practicing partner in valuations, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border listings as well as serving as audit engagement partner, quality review partner and relationship partner on some of PwC largest Danish listed company clients, especially within biotech and pharmaceuticals. He served on the managing board of the Danish firm from 1992 to 1995 and has led the audit division as well as the M&A division from 1982 to 1992. He has been a member of Coopers & Lybrand’s Global Auditing & Accounting Committee from 1982-86 and again from 1996 to 1998. He has served as PwC's Risk and Quality Leader for EMEA from 1998-2002 and its Regulatory and Professional Affairs Leader for Europe and the Central Cluster from 2004 to 2009.
From 1986 to 1996 Mr. Røder was a member of the Groupé des Etudés des Experts Comptables Européens (later known as Fedération des Experts Comptables Européens [FEE]), serving on its Executive Committee from 1989 and as its president in 1995 and 1996.
He was a member of the Danish Institute of State authorised Accountants (FSR) Accounting Technical Board from 1982 to 1986 and a member of the FSR Supervisory Board from 2002-2006, serving as President of FSR from 2004-2006. Additionally, he was a founding member of the European Contact Group of the major accounting firms (1993) and served as its chairman from 1998 to 2003 and as a member of the Global Public Policy Committee of large firms Regulatory Working Group from 2002 to 2009.
From 1999 to 2007 he served as trustee of the International Accounting Standards Committee Foundation, serving on its Executive Committee, Nominations Committee, chairing its Audit Committee and acting as senior advisor on European Union matters. In 2002, Mr. Røder chaired the Council of Ministers Working party on the modernization of the accounting directives (adoption of IFRS) during the period of Denmark’s presidency of the European Union. He has also served on the EU Commission Accounting Forum and the Audit Advisory Forum from 1994 to 2002
He also has served as a member of the Supervisory Board of European Financial Reporting Group (EFRAG) from 2009-2012 and served on its Nominating Committee and as deputy chairman of the EFRAG Governance and Nominating Committee (GNC) in 2012. He is currently a Trustee of the International Valuations Standards Council (IVSC) and serves on its Audit and Finance Committee and he is a member of IFAC's Public Policy and Regulatory Group (PPRG).
