Kim Langfield-Smith joined the International Accounting Education Standards Board in January 2008, nominated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and CPA Australia. She is a Fellow of both of those professional accounting bodies.

Dr. Langfield-Smith works at Monash University, Australia, as pro vice-chancellor (academic performance) and is a professor of management accounting. Prior academic positions include deputy dean (research), head of the Department of Accounting and Finance at Monash University, and head of the School of Business at La Trobe University, Australia.

Dr. Langfield-Smith has served on many committees of the accounting profession in Australia. She is currently chair of the Professional Qualifications Advisory Committee and is the former chair of the Accreditation Advisory Committee of CPA Australia.

Dr. Langfield-Smith holds a BEc from the University of Sydney, an MEc from Macquarie University, and Ph.D. from Monash University.
