Professor Linda de Beer was elected as chair of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board’s Consultative Advisory Group (CAG) in 2010. Prior to her election as chair, she represented the World Federation of Exchanges on the CAG.

Professor de Beer is an independent director and financial reporting and corporate governance advisor, and visiting professor in accounting at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. She serves as an independent non-executive director on the boards of three South African listed companies.

She is a member of the King Committee on Corporate Governance, the Issuers' Services Advisory Committee of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), and the Committee for Auditing Standards of the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors.

Professor de Beer is a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and holds a Master of Commerce in taxation.
