Marie-Pierre Cordier became a member of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board in January 2007. She was nominated by the Compagnie Nationale des Commissaires aux Comptes and the Ordre des Experts Comptables.

Mrs. Cordier is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale d'administration (ENA) and has extensive experience in the audit of public accounts at both a national and international level and is a member of the French Court of Accounts. She was director of external audit of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization in 2006. Since 2003, she has been the external auditor of two international organizations: the Office International des Epizooties and the Centre International des Hautes études méditerranéenes. From 2001 to 2003, Mrs. Cordier was deputy director of external audit at the United Nations Board of Auditors based in Geneva.

She is also the author of various accountancy publications.
