Masud Muzaffar became a member of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) in January 2012. He was nominated by Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP).
Currently in the practice of consultancy in the field of financial management with an emphasize on accounting issues in the public sector, Mr. Muzaffar joined the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service in 1974.
During his thirty-five years of service with the government of Pakistan, Mr. Muzaffar has served as Controller General of Accounts of Pakistan; Deputy Auditor General of Pakistan; Director General, Department of Auditor General of Pakistan; Member Finance CDA; Joint Secretary, Ministry of Railways; Chief Accounts Officer, Pakistan Postal Services Corporation; Deputy Secretary/Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defense Production; and Deputy Secretary, Establishment Division.
Mr. Muzaffar is currently a member of the council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Pakistan (ICAP) and a member of the Ethics and Professional Independence Committee of the South Asian Federation of Accountants. He has served as a Council member of the ICAP, the Quality Assurance Board of ICAP, and as chairman, Islamabad Branch Council of ICMAP.
He has represented Pakistan at various professional international forums, including the Inter-Governmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Financial Reporting and the International Consortium on Governmental Financial Management.
Mr. Muzaffar holds a master's in economics and is a Senior Fellow of ICMAP.
