Dr. Masum Turker became a member of the IFAC Board in November 2011. He was nominated by the Union of Chambers of Certified Public Accountants of Turkey (TÜRMOB) and the Expert Accountants' Association of Turkey (EAAT).

Dr. Turker is a Partner in Turkerler Auditing and Tax Consulting, Inc. in Istanbul, Turkey. He was the President of TÜRMOB, Chairman of the Turkish Auditing Standards Board, a member of IFAC Small and Medium Practices Committee from 2006 to 2011; Vice President of the Fédération des Experts Comptables Méditerranéens (FCM); Vice President of the South Eastern European Partnership on Accountancy Development; and a member of the Fédération des Experts Comptables Européens Small- and Medium-Sized Practices Working Group. At Istanbul Commerce University (Turkey), Dr. Turker serves as an assistant professor, and at Istanbul and Marmara Universities (Turkey) as a visiting professor. 

Dr. Turker is a former State Minister of Turkey, responsible for economics, and he was a Member of Parliament from Istanbul in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) from 1999 to 2002. In addition, he previously served as the President of EAAT and President of FCM, and was a member of the IFAC Education Committee. He was also the President of TESMER (Training and Education Center of TURMOB).
