Milton Ayon

Milton Ayon became a member of the Professional Accountancy Organization Development Committee in January 2012, nominated by the Colegio de Contadores Publicos Autorizados de Panama. Previously, he was a technical advisor for the committee, nominated by the Conselho Federal de Contabilidade (Brazil).

Mr. Ayon is a KPMG partner, dedicated to the audit services rendered to financial institutions. He is part of the Quality Review Team for Financial Institutions and leading partner for industries in the Central America region.

Mr. Ayon has over 38 years of experience in the financial sector, seventeen of them with KPMG Panama, and more than 20 years with insurance companies and international banks, including Banco Real and ABN AMRO, where he performed general management functions. He also served as the President of the Colegio de Contadores Publicos Autorizados de Panama from 2007 to 2009. 

Mr. Ayon obtained a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from the Universidad de Panama, and has an MBA Nova Southeastern University (US). In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Ayon has written articles for global publications and presented lectures at numerous universities and international forums on association management, ethics, and corporate governance. 

He is a certified partner in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and head professor of IFRS for the Universidad Especializada del Contador Publico Autorizado (Panama), where he also serves as a member of the Board and the Administrative Vice-Chancellor.
