Myriam Madden became a Permanent Observer to the IFAC Board in November 2016, representing the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) with alternate Observer, Keith Luck.
Ms. Madden is one of the first female presidents of a professional accounting body that represents a quarter of a million members in 170 countries and she led the formation of the world’s first association of US and international professional accountants. In her current role as Immediate Past President, Ms. Madden is Chairman of the Appointments Committee. She is also Chairman of the Joint Venture Board formed by the American Institute of CPA’s and CIMA in preparation for the formation of a new global professional body, the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants. Ms. Madden has held global governance roles at CIMA since 2006 including: Chairman of the Global Members’ Services Committee, Vice-Chairman of the global policy committee responsible for ethics and professional standards, and Board member of the Audit and Risk committee. Ms. Madden also served on the Board of the American Institute of CPAs.
Ms. Madden is a CFO/Director of Finance with international experience in business and industry, specializing in business transformation, operational restructuring and finance. Her career spans a broad range of organizations in the public sector, financial services, and internationally in global blue-chip companies. Organizations where she has led change programs and corporate service functions include Halifax Bank of Scotland, Hewlett Packard, Agilent Technologies, Scottish Arts Council, National Health Service, and Historic Scotland.
Ms. Madden is a Fellow of CIMA and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. She is a graduate of University College Cork, Ireland with an honors degree in business and commerce.
