Penny Egan, FCPA, GAICD joined the IFAC Compliance Advisory Panel in January 2016. Mrs. Egan was jointly nominated by CPA Australia (CPAA) and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (the amalgamation of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants).
Mrs. Egan is the Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Council Tasmania, a position she has held since 2013. She was previously the Chief Financial Officer of the Department of Health and Human Services in Tasmania and Chief Financial Officer for Forestry Tasmania. She has held senior executive roles in business for the past 20 years and has worked in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.
Mrs. Egan was on the national Board of CPAA from 2005 to 2015 and President from 2013 to 2014. During her time on the CPAA Board, she chaired the Finance Committee and Audit and Risk Committee and was made a Life Member in 2014.
Mrs. Egan is the Deputy Chair of the Cancer Councils of Australia CEO Forum and has held board roles in both the profit and not-for-profit sector.
Mrs. Egan has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from the University of Tasmania, is a Fellow of CPAA, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors
