Peter Hughes

Peter Hughes became a member of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) in January 2010. He was nominated by the Transnational Auditors Committee.

As a partner at KPMG, Mr. Hughes is in charge of KPMG International's Global Independence Group where he is responsible for overseeing ethics and independence policy, guidance, and training for member firms of KPMG International. Mr Hughes is based in London and is head of ethics and independence for KPMG Europe LLP.

Mr. Hughes is currently a member of the UK Financial Reporting Council's Auditing Practices Board (APB) Ethics Sub-committee and previously served on the APB Sub-Committee responsible for developing the Statements of Investment Circular Reporting Standards, including the Ethical Standard for Reporting Accountants. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
