Raphael Ding joined the IFAC Board in November 2014. He was nominated by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Mr. Ding has over 27 years of experience in the accountancy profession, including his current position as the chief executive and registrar for the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs since 2012. Before assuming his current position with the Institute, Mr. Ding worked as non-executive and executive director of a Hong Kong-listed investment and management company and a Hong Kong-listed food and household care products company. He spent 20 years with major international accounting firms in the UK and Hong Kong, and 7 years as the director of professional conduct of the Institute.
Mr. Ding was a member of the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs Council from 2008 to 2012, an advisor to China’s Ministry of Finance and the Chinese Institute of CPAs on the convergence of Chinese financial reporting and auditing standards with Hong Kong and international standards, and a member of the Financial Reporting Review Panel of the Financial Reporting Council. He also served as a member of the Hong Kong SAR Government Commission on Strategic Development between November 2005 and June 2007 and as a member of the Central Policy Unit Panel on the Pan-Pearl River Delta between 2006 and 2009.
