Robert R. Harris became a member of the IFAC Board in November 2010. He was nominated by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
Mr. Harris is a principal with Rehmann and is located in the Vero Beach, FL office. Mr. Harris began practicing public accounting in 1975. He was the managing director of Harris, Cotherman, Jones, Price & Associates and its predecessor for 28 years when the firm joined Rehmann in 2012. He provides audit, tax, and business planning for corporations and high-income individuals, as well as corporate strategic and organizational planning. He provides consulting to a broad range of clients with a particular emphasis on the transportation industry, medical professional organizations, and real estate development.
Mr. Harris devotes time and experience to the public accounting field. He was the chair of the AICPA for 2009-10 and has held numerous committee appointments within the organization. He is chair of the Governance and Audit Committee of IFAC. He was also president of the Florida Institute of CPAs during 1990-1991. In September 2009, he was recognized as one of the top 100 most influential people in accounting, as published in Accounting Today. The CPA Technology Advisor recognized him in 2011 as a Top Thought Leader in Public Accounting Technology, and the Michigan Association of CPAs recognized him in 2010 with their Outstanding Visionary Award. In 2014, he was the recipient of the AICPA Gold Medal Award for Distinguished Service.
