Robert Hodgkinson became a member of the IFAC Board in November 2007 having served as a technical advisor to a UK Board member from 2005-2007.

Mr. Hodgkinson is executive director, technical, at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). In 1980, he joined Arthur Andersen where he qualified as a chartered accountant in 1983, and became a partner in 1992. Since 1991, Mr. Hodgkinson has served on a number of ICAEW committees, including chairing the Financial Reporting Committee. He has also served as project director to the UK Financial Reporting Council’s Turnbull Review Group and to the ICAEW audit firm governance working group, which published its code in 2010. From 2000-2004, he served as vice president of the Fédération des Experts Compables Européen (European Federation of Accountants) in Brussels and was chairman of its Auditing Working Party.

Mr. Hodgkinson graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Corpus Christi College at Oxford University and has co-authored numerous published works on a wide range of accountancy topics.
