Shahied Daniels became a member of the Professional Accountancy Organizations Developing Committee in January 2013. He was nominated by the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA).
Mr. Daniels is the CEO of SAIPA, where he is committed to advancing the interests of all members and affiliates, with a specific focus on the advancement of previously disadvantaged and emerging accounting professionals.
Mr. Daniels is a member of the Institute of Directors, the Australian Institute of Professional Accountants (formerly the National Institute of Accountants), the Institute of Professional Accountants (Russia), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Commercial and Financial Accountants of Namibia. In addition, Mr. Daniels is a member of the Arbitration Federation of Southern Africa and the Institute of Business Advisors. He also serves on the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) Board. He is also a member of the Association of Black Accounts South Africa and the Black Management Forum.
In addition to his service to the accountancy profession, Mr. Daniels is also a member of the Thistle Rugby Football Club (RFC), and served as president, deputy president, and treasurer. He has also served as the treasurer and acting chairman of the Bonteheuwel Sport and Recreational Council and on the board of Bonteheuwel Multi Purpose Centre, where he was responsible for the Centre’s finances.
Mr. Daniels holds a national diploma in internal auditing from Pentech, a certification in taxation from UNISA, and an advanced diploma in higher education management from the University of Cape Town (UCT)’s Graduate School of Business, where he has also completed the Programme for Management Development. He also holds a qualification in project management from UCT and is certified by the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa as an arbitration and expert witness.
