Shahied Daniels became a member of the IFAC Professional Accountancy Organizations (PAO) Development Committee in January 2013. He was nominated by the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA).
Mr. Daniels is the chief executive officer of the SAIPA. He is an experienced accounting profession and has held numerous leadership positions in corporations and non-governmental and professional organizations. Much of his expertise and experience in accounting is orientated toward small-, medium-, and micro-sized enterprises—this expertise is being increasing recognized nationally and internationally.
Mr. Daniels is a member of the Pan African Federation of Accountants Board. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors (South Africa and the UK), the Institute of Public Accountants (Australia, formerly the National Institute of Accountants), the Institute of Professional Accountants (Russia), the American Institute of CPAs, the Edinburgh Group, and the Commercial and Financial Accountants of Namibia. In addition, Mr. Daniels is a member of the Arbitration Federation of Southern Africa, Institute of Business Advisors, Association of Black Accounts South Africa, and the Black Management Forum.
Mr. Daniels holds a national diploma in internal auditing from Pentech, a certification in taxation from the University of South Africa, and an advanced diploma in higher education management from the University of Cape Town (UCT)’s Graduate School of Business, where he has also completed the Programme for Management Development. He also holds a qualification in project management from UCT and is certified by the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa as an arbitration and expert witness.
