Wendy W.Y. Yung became a member of the Professional Accountants in Business Committee in January 2015. She was nominated by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPAs), where she served as a co-opted Council member until 2017.
Ms. Yung is an advocate for good corporate governance in Hong Kong. She is the founder of Practising Governance. Previously, she was the Executive Director and Company Secretary of Hysan Development Company Limited, where she played a key role in developing and implementing its well-recognized corporate governance practices. During her years with the company, she has assumed a wide range of functional roles, spanning legal, human resources, corporate communications, and commercial operations.
Ms. Yung’s public service includes serving as a member of the Securities and Futures Appeal Panel, Standing Committee on Company Law Reform, a co-opted member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Hospital Authority, and a Council Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries. She also served as a member of the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited from 2014 to 2016.
First trained as a solicitor, Ms. Yung is also a certified public accountant and a chartered secretary in Hong Kong. She holds a Master of Arts degree from Oxford University.
