William Schneider

William “Bill” Schneider became a member of the Professional Accountants in Business Committee in January 2012. He was nominated by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Mr. Schneider is currently director of accounting for the Corporate Accounting Policy, Executive Compensation Accounting, and Benefits Finance at AT&T. Mr. Schneider has held multiple positions at AT&T and BellSouth, including responsibility for the Corporate Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Office, controller positions, shared services project manager, and SEC reporting manager. Prior to joining BellSouth, which later became part of AT&T, Mr. Schneider worked at Deloitte & Touche.

Mr. Schneider is a past president of the Georgia Society of CPAs and was recognized its 2011 Outstanding Member in Industry.

Mr. Schneider has served in a variety of roles for the AICPA, including as a member of the Council, the Business and Industry Executive Committee, the Risk Management and Internal Control Advisory Council, and the Board of Directors.

Mr. Schneider also served as on the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) Advisory Council on the update of the Internal Control—Integrated Framework as the AICPA representative.

Mr. Schneider is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy.
