Job Title: IFAC Board Technical Advisor for In-Ki Joo

Yeong Kyun Ahn joined the IFAC Board as a technical advisor to Prof. In-Ki Joo in September 2013. He was nominated by the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants (KICPA).
Mr. Ahn joined KICPA in 2014 as Vice President in Research and Education and also served as Executive Director for International Affairs. Previously, he was an Assurance Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Korea. He spent more than 30 years with PwC serving in various areas including audit, risk management, professional education, and legal affairs, and was Assurance Leader of PwC Korea from 2008 to 2012.
Mr. Ahn joined the International Accounting Education Standards Board in 2015. He was a member of the Korean Accounting Standards Board from 2012 to 2015. He is the recipient of a Prime Minister Citation in recognition of his service to the accounting profession and was awarded a Governor’s prize by the Financial Supervisory Service in 2008 and a Grand Prize for CPA by the Korea Listed Companies Association in 2012.
Mr. Ahn holds a PhD in audit from Kookmin University. He also holds master’s and bachelor's degrees in business administration from Seoul National University and has lectured on financial accounting and audit at various universities. He first qualified as a CPA in 1983.
