For nearly two decades, the work of international, independent standard-setting boards has supported the global economy and financial markets by producing high-quality, global standards for audit and assurance, professional ethics, public sector financial reporting, and professional skills and competencies. These boards are looking for highly knowledgeable and informed individuals from all professional backgrounds who have insights and perspectives that are relevant to global standards.
Candidates should have subject-matter knowledge as well as strong English proficiency. Each board meets up to four times per year; the required time commitment is approximately 300 to 850 hours per year, depending on the board, member involvement, preparation, and travel time.

- International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board
The IAASB develops auditing and assurance standards and guidance for use by all professional accountants under a shared standard-setting. There are five IAASB vacancies for 2020—including auditors, accountants, and professionals from other fields.
- International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants
The IESBA is an independent standard-setting board that develops and issues, in the public interest, high-quality ethical standards and other pronouncements for professional accountants worldwide. The IESBA issues the Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants, which applies to all professional accountants. There are six IESBA vacancies for 2020—including accountants and professionals from other fields.
- International Accounting Education Standards Board
The IAESB is an independent standard-setting body that develops high-quality standards and guidance on learning and development required for aspiring professional accountants (pre-qualification education and training), as well as on continuing professional development for all professional accountants, including audit engagement partners. There are five IAESB vacancies for 2020—including accountants and professionals from other fields.
- International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board
The IPSASB works to strengthen public financial management globally through the development of accrual-based International Public Sector Accounting Standards and other guidance for use by governments and other public sector entities.
