Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests. Before I start may I offer my sincere thanks to the Botswana Institute of Accountants for inviting me to present at this event. It is a privilege and a pleasure to be here. It clearly demonstrates the commitment of your organization to SMP/SME, its determination to understand the issues and find solutions to the problems. In this presentation I will articulate the main issues as the SMP Committee sees them and outline its approach to dealing with them. I am most interested in your views and suggestions on the work plan.
