SME/SMP Strategy

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests. Before I begin may I offer my sincere thanks to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean for inviting me to present at your annual conference. My main topic today will be Accounting Standards for SMEs. However as I there are a number of IFAC members and potential members here today, I will spend a little time at the end of my remarks to talk about the IFAC Member Body Compliance Program. This important program is moving into a new phase and I believe it is important for all you to understand the implications for each professional body. In this presentation I will articulate the main issues as the IFAC SMP Committee sees them and outline its approach to dealing with them.
