Bruce Behn

Bruce K. Behn, Ph.D., CPA, became a member of the International Accounting Education Standards Board in January 2017. He was nominated by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).

Dr. Behn is currently the Associate Dean for Graduate and Executive Education and Deloitte LLP Professor in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Prior to obtaining his Ph.D., he worked for Rockwell International in Uithoorn, the Netherlands, as the International Financial Coordinator for Allen-Bradley Europa B.V., as a Controller and Financial Analyst for Allen-Bradley Company, and as a Senior Auditor for KPMG Peat Marwick.

Dr. Behn is currently the Immediate Past President of the American Accounting Association (AAA) as well as a Past Vice-President and Past President of its International Accounting Section. He recently also chaired the Pathways Commission, is a Past President of the Federation of Schools of Accountancy, and is a Past Chair of the AICPA’s Pre-certification Education Executive Committee.

Dr. Behn has also been the recipient of a number of teaching and service awards, including the AAA's Innovation in Accounting Education Award, Outstanding International Accounting Educator Award, and Outstanding Service Award. He also received the AICPA Special Recognition Award.

Dr. Behn has a Ph.D. and MBA from Arizona State University (US) and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (US)
