Ivan Sotomayor

Ivan Sotomayor, CPA, CGMA, became a member of the Professional Accountancy Organizations (PAO) Development Committee in January 2015. He was nominated by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).

Mr. Sotomayor is the managing partner of Sotomayor & Associates, LLP. He is a technical advisor on matters of auditing and accounting to the US Department of Commerce’s Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Services (ITAC 10) and to the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (UNCTAD ISAR) as a consultative member formulating the framework for capacity building in the area of accounting and financial reporting. He is a past member of the International Qualifications Appraisal Board, the AICPA International Strategies Committee, and the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Inter-American Accounting Association.

Mr. Sotomayor holds an MBA from Golden Gate University (US) and a bachelor’s degree in economics from California State University (US). He is a member of the AICPA and the California and New Jersey Societies of CPAs.
