Karin French joined the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) in January 2014, nominated by the Transnational Auditors Committee.
She previously served as a technical advisor for IAASB member John Archambault.
Ms. French is the national managing partner of international standards for Grant Thornton U.S. Previously, she led a project team revising the firm’s global audit methodology and served as the national managing partner of professional standards for the firm. She is also a member of Grant Thornton’s extended leadership team.
She currently serves on the Regulatory Working Group of the Global Public Policy Committee and chairs the International Auditing Standards Task Force of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). She has previously served as a member of the Professional Practice Executive Committee, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Regulations Committee, and numerous other task forces sponsored by the Center for Audit Quality. She also served on the Accounting Standards Executive Committee of the AICPA.
Ms. French has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master of Business Administration—Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois, Oklahoma, and Virginia, and a member of the AICPA.
