Karin French

Karin French joined the IAASB in January 2014, nominated by the Transnational Auditors Committee. Ms. French retired from Grant Thornton US in 2016 as the national managing partner of international standards. Previously, she led a project team revising the firm’s global audit methodology and served as the national managing partner of professional standards for the firm. She was also a member of Grant Thornton’s extended leadership team.

Ms. French chaired the International Auditing Standards Task Force of the American Institute of CPAs from 2015 through 2018. She also served on the AICPA’s Accounting Standards Executive Committee. She previously served as a member of the Global Public Policy Committee ‘s Regulatory Working Group, the Professional Practice Executive Committee, the US Securities and Exchange Commission Regulations Committee, and numerous other task forces sponsored by the Center for Audit Quality.

Ms. French has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master of Business Administration—Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Oklahoma and a member of the AICPA.
