Karin French joined the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) in January 2014, nominated by the Transnational Auditors Committee. She previously served as a techical advisor for IAASB member John Archambault
Ms. French is the national managing partner of international standards for Grant Thornton, where she is currently leading a project team revising the firm’s global audit methodology. Previously, Ms. French served as the national managing partner of professional standards for the firm. She is also a member of Grant Thornton’s national leadership team.
Ms. French currently serves on the Standards Working Group of the Global Public Policy Committee. She has previously served as a member of the Professional Practice Executive Committee, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Regulations Committee, and numerous other task forces sponsored by the Center for Audit Quality. She also served on the Accounting Standards Executive Committee of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
Ms. French has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Masters in Business Administration—Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois, Oklahoma, and Virginia, and a member of the AICPA.
