Kathryn A. Byrne became Chair of IFAC Compliance Advisory Panel in January 2016 after serving as Deputy Chair and Member since 2010. She previously served on the Transnational Auditors Committee as a member of the Quality Peer Review Subcommittee, representing Moores Rowland, from 2001 to 2003.
Ms. Byrne has more than 25 years of experience in providing accounting, auditing, tax, and consulting services to domestic and foreign corporations in various industries. She consults regularly on financial reporting matters to ensure compliance with US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Ms. Byrne completed her undergraduate studies at James Madison University (US), earning a BBA in Accounting and Finance. She is also a 2014 graduate of the Mazars EMBA Program. She is the Chair of Praxity’s Membership Committee and the former North American Chair of Praxity, a unique global alliance of independent accounting firms with offices in 65 countries. She is also a member of the Group Governance Council of Mazars Group.
Ms. Byrne is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of CPAs, where she was chairperson of the 2011 and 2012 International Business Conference. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Signature Bank as well as the Lead Director, member, and the former Chair of the Examination Committee and a member of the Nominating Committee. She is also a member of the Women’s Corporate Directors Group and the James Madison University College of Business Board of Advisors. In addition, she is a board member of the Irish American Business Chamber and Network and the French American Chamber of Commerce.
