Michael Codling

Michael Codling joined the Nominating Committee in January 2018, nominated jointly by the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia.

Mr. Codling is one of PwC's most senior audit partners in Australia, having provided auditing, risk management, due diligence, and consulting services for 35 years, 23 as a partner. He recently completed five years as the PwC Lead Partner for the external audit of Westpac Banking Corporation, one of the world's largest 20 banks by market cap.

Mr. Codling has on ongoing role in reviewing audit quality across PwC internationally, and was previously the Australian representative on the firm's Global Accounting Committee. For six years he was a member of the PwC Board of Partners—10 senior partners who are responsible for the governance of the Australian firm—and he chaired the firm's Board Risk Committee.

Mr. Codling is a life member of the Risk Management Association of Australia, having been the Vice Chair for several years. He is also a life member of the Australian Securitisation Forum, having served on their National Committee and chaired their Accounting & Risk sub-Committee for eight years.

He is also a director of The Freedom Project, a charitable organization that works to end human trafficking and slavery, and is Chair of the Diocesan Financial Advisory Group which advises the Anglican Church in Australia on financial and risk management matters.
