CA. Naveen N D Gupta has more than 20 years of professional experience. In addition to being an observer for the IFAC Board, he is a technical advisor for the IFAC Small and Medium Practices Committee, representing the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is also on the Board of Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants, South Asian Federation of Accountants and ICAI representative in International Integrated Reporting Council.

Mr. Gupta is the President of ICAI for 2018-2019. He also served for three consecutive terms as a member of the ICAI Council and as Vice-President of ICAI in 2017-2018. He previously served as Chairman of ICAI's committees on Direct Taxes, Economic, Commercial Laws & WTO, Peer Review Board, Capacity Building of CA Firms and SMPs and Public Relations. He has been honored for his distinguished contribution as Vice-Chairman of AASB, Professional Development Committee, Internal Audit Standards Board, Continuing Professional Education Committee, and Board of Studies.

Mr. Gupta primarily focuses on imperatives of digitization to world of accountants as also ICAI's continued foray into integrated reporting and accrual accounting. He is also credited with initiating two certificate courses on intellectual property rights and anti-money laundering laws for ICAI. Mr. Gupta also represents ICAI in many important committees constituted by the Government/Regulators such as Government Accounting Standards Advisory Board and Audit Advisory Board, Board of Insurance Regulatory & Development Authority, National Advisory Committee on Accounting Standards and SEBI's Primary Market Advisory Committee. He is also Director in XBRL India and Accounting Research Foundation.
