Richard Petty

Richard Petty became a member of the IFAC Board in November 2014, having been nominated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and CPA Australia.

Dr. Petty is a former Chairman and President of CPA Australia (2009-2010). He is a professor at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management and has lectured at several other leading universities and been published in leading journals. Dr. Petty advises multinational companies, governments, and multilateral organizations. He is frequently an invited keynote speaker at conferences. He has received awards as a researcher, as an editor of academic works, and as an educator.

Dr. Petty graduated with first-class honors in accounting and was awarded the university medal for his undergraduate studies. He holds a master’s degree (with honors) in Commerce, and a Ph.D. He is a Fellow of CPA Australia and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
