Samuel Agbevem became a technical advisor for Christopher Nyong of Nigeria during 2017.

Mr. Agbevem is currently a partner and head of EY’s West Africa Financial Accounting Advisory Services team, a team that specializes in supporting entities with their technical accounting and financial reporting (IFRS and IPSAS) and sustainability & integrated reporting needs.

Mr. Agbevem has over 18 years of professional experience across Africa and the UK. Originally from Ghana, he is currently based in Lagos where he specializes in advising clients on their complex and technical accounting, GAAP conversions, including practical implementation issues, remediation and transaction-related accounting advice, and non-financial disclosures issues. He also has experience in enterprise risk management, internal audit and internal control having led SOx404 implementation for a number of entities across West Africa.

Mr. Agbevem holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Hull (UK) and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana). He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana; Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana; and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).
