Shinji Someha

Shinji Someha became a member of the IFAC Board in November 2014. He was nominated by the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (JICPA).

Mr. Someha is a Japanese Certified Public Accountant and a Partner at KPMG with more than 20 years of experience in audits. He served as a Head of Audit Training at KPMG Japan from 2011 to 2013 and also was a member of KPMG’s Audit Learning & Development Globalization Working Group from 2012 to 2013. He has previously participated in a number of meetings of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA), and also has been a board member of Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) since 2013.

He was a JICPA Council member from 2011 to 2013 and became an Executive Board member of JICPA in 2013. He has served on several JICPA committees and working groups, including as Vice-chair of the Ethics Committee (2011–2014) and as Chair of the JICPA’s ethics standards working group (2011–2014). He is currently the Executive Board member in charge of international affairs and also a member of the Quality Control Committee of the JICPA.
