Wallace D. (Wally) Gregory, Jr. became chair of the Transnational Auditors Committee in January 2015. He previously served as the voting member of the Forum or Firms, representing Deloitte Touche Tohmastu Limited (DTTL).
Mr. Gregory is the managing director, global independence for Deloitte Touche Tohmastu Limited (DTTL). In this capacity, Mr. Gregory leads a core team responsible for global independence, including quality control and monitoring, consultation, and interaction with various professional bodies on standards development. These responsibilities include working extensively with an international network of independence directors, risk leaders, and regulatory contact partners from each of the DTTL member firms.
Prior to this role, Mr. Gregory was the deputy chief risk officer of Deloitte LLP, the US member firm of DTTL. He worked with client teams and other DTTL member firms on risk and professional practice matters, developed and implemented risk and professional practice policies, and led the Enterprise Risk Management Program, National Office of Privacy, National Office of Conflicts, and Internal Audit functions.
Mr. Gregory has more than 20 years of audit experience, serving multinational clients primarily in the retail/trade and manufacturing industries. He has been published in the Wall Street Journal, CFO and CIO editions, and has presented on various professional practice topics, both internally and externally.
He is a CPA licensed to practice in Connecticut and South Carolina and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Connecticut Society of CPAs, and South Carolina Association of CPAs.
Mr. Gregory lives in Weston, Connecticut, with his wife and their two children. He enjoys travel, skiing, and spending time with his family.
