Yacoob Suttar joined the IFAC Board in November 2017. He was nominated by the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan (ICAP). Mr. Suttar previously served on the IFAC Professional Accountants in Business Committee, including as Deputy Chair from 2015-2016.

Mr. Suttar is currently Managing Director CEO of Asia Petroleum Limited since Feb, 2013. He is also Deputy Managing Director Finance and CFO of Pakistan State Oil Company Limited after joining the organization as Executive Director (Finance & IT) in 2006.

In 2013. Mr. Suttar was appointed as Managing Director & CEO of Asia Petroleum Limited (APL) a sister concern of PSO. He is also Chairman of Procurement Committee, HSE Committee, Credit Review Board, and CSR Trust in PSO.

Mr. Suttar has also served as President of ICAP (2014-2015), Council member (2009-2017), and Vice President South (2012-2013). He has remained the Chairman of ICAP Professional Accountants in Business Committee for five years, while serving on Executive Committee, Examination Committee, Human Resource Committee, and Publication Committee.

Mr. Suttar began his career with A.F. Ferguson & Co. in 1981 where he completed his four year of training in audit and finance related work. Later, he spent few years in Saudi Arabia working as Finance Controller of a large Saudi Company. On his return to Pakistan, Mr. Suttar joined Engro Chemicals Pakistan Ltd in 1988 and worked in various positions with them for over 17 years.

Mr. Suttar is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountant of Pakistan.
