Yelena Rodriguez Trujillo

Yelena Rodriguez Trujillo was appointed to the IFAC Compliance Advisory Panel in January 2019. She was nominated by Colegio de Contadores Publicos Autorizados de Panama.

Mrs. Rodriguez has more than 30 years of experience in accounting, management and administration, internal and external auditing, setting processes and control, and establishing strategic plans and assuring compliance. She is currently Chief Operating Officer and the Executive Director for the CCPAP having joined the organization in 2010.

Previously, Mrs. Rodriguez was corporate internal audit manager for Central America and Caribbean for Pricesmart Inc., administrative/compliance manager for business contracts/controls at Telefonica Moviles Panama, and a senior auditor for KPMG-1992.

Mrs. Rodriguez is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and IIA-Panama Chapter since 2007. She is also Vice President of the Ethics and Professional Practice Commision of Interamerican Accounting Association (AIC), where she was reelected for three consecutive periods since 2011. She is also Director of the AIC National Coordination Committee representing the CCPAP.

Mrs. Rodriguez is a member of ALCAPA-Alianza de Calidad de Panama and a member of Regulatory Committee of the Panama Quality Assurance Program.

Mrs. Rodriguez was awarded for Y2K compliance processes at large telecommunication companies, as a member of the T3 Strategic Team to implement new lines of business, and as a member of the implementation team. She was also honored in 2015 by Brystol Who's Who.

Mrs. Rodriguez studied Business Administration and Accountancy at the University of Panama, and qualified as CPA in 2000. She obtained an MBA in Strategic Planning in Universidad Interamericana de Panamá and received a certification from the Managerial Development Program of ADEN-School of Business (Academic Support of Francisco Vitoria University and University of San Francisco, US).

Mrs. Rodriguez is also a certified internal auditor with a degree from Universidad Católica Santa María la Antigua MA, and has completed graduate studies on higher education from Universidad Especializada del Contador Público Autorizado.
