MOSAIC was signed on November 30, 2011, in Busan, Korea at the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness hosted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. The event was convened to review global progress in improving the impact of development aid and to reinforce commitment to the Millennium Development Goals.
Successes under the MOSAIC initiative to date include:
- Development of the PAO Global Development Report to assess the status of PAOs around the world and key areas of development need. The report was co-funded by the African Development Bank, Asian Development Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, and World Bank.
- Receipt of a £4.935m grant from the UK Department for International Development (DFID) for PAO capacity-building programs in at least 10 countries over seven years. The funds will be used to strengthen PAOs in approximately ten DFID partner countries with capacity building needs that, based on current information, are ready to benefit from assistance.
- Development of this website to serve as global exchange of knowledge and ideas on capacity building and PAO development. The website was funded by the World Bank.
