Alan Edwards

Alan Edwards became a member of the Professional Accountancy Organization (PAO) Development Committee in January 2014. He was nominated by the UK Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies.

Mr. Edwards is the Emeritus Chair of Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy Development. Most of his career has been spent as a management consultant supporting the public sector having been a partner at PwC, KPMG, and IBM. He trained as an accountant in local government in the UK and has long been an active CIPFA member, including serving as an elected member of its Council.

Mr. Edwards is also an experienced public sector board member. He is currently deputy chair of Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospitals. He previously was the chair of the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and an independent member of the Board of the UK National Policing Improvement Agency.

Mr. Edwards is the former deputy chair of the Accountancy Europe Public Sector Group.
