Arjuna Herath became a member of the Professional Accountancy Organization (PAO) Development Committee in January 2013. He was nominated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka).
Mr. Herath is the president of CA Sri Lanka and the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) and a partner at EY Sri Lanka and Maldives. He has more than two decades of experience as a Chartered Accountant in industry, commerce, and public practice.
During his tenure as a member of the Council of CA Sri Lanka, he has been the chairman of several committees, including the Continuous Professional Education (CPE), Operations Review, and IT Committees, as well as serving as the chair of the IT Faculty. Additionally, he has served as a member of the Examination, Ethics, Corporate Governance, and Strategic Planning Review Committees. He has also served on many Boards of Directors of public and private companies.
Mr. Herath also serves as the Board director of the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board and the Confederation of Asia Pacific Accountants (CAPA). He is also a commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka.
Mr. Herath is a Fellow Member of CA Sri Lanka and holds a B.Sc., MA in Financial Economics, and an MBA.
