    Susan S. Coffey, CPA, CGMA, is Senior Vice President, Public Practice & Global Alliances at the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).

    In this role, Ms. Coffey  is responsible for enhancing the quality of AICPA member practices and overseeing international relations initiatives. She works to enhance the quality of member practices and provide additional value to CPA firms by leading all AICPA activities related to, professional ethics, financial reporting, auditing, taxation and CPA firm services.

    While driving the development and implementation of the AICPA’s international strategy, Ms. Coffey ensures the Institute continues to create and foster new alliances across the globe and strengthens the value of the US CPA abroad.

    Ms. Coffey’s responsibilities span a number of diverse communities, both domestic and international, giving her a unique, global perspective. Her wide range of experience allows her to bring a broad view to problem-solving and guide her teams as they foster relationships with AICPA members and key stakeholders.

    Under her leadership, her teams work to better serve and protect the public, by working with the Federal and State regulatory community to review, enact and enhance rules, regulations and laws that protect the public and promote the efficient practice of public accountancy.

    A licensed CPA, Ms. Coffey is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the New Jersey Society of CPAs, the North Carolina Association of CPAs, and the American Society of Association Executives. Ms. Coffey is also a member of the Professional Practice Executive Committee of the Center for Audit Quality, an AICPA affiliate. Ms. Coffey is former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the SEC Historical Society, as well as its audit committee.  She is currently a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Committee.

    Prior to joining the AICPA, Ms. Coffey was with PricewaterhouseCoopers' accounting and auditing practice.

    She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut.
