Susan Coffey is Senior Vice President, Public Practice & Global Alliances, at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Ms. Coffey has overall responsibility for several programs designed to enhance the quality of members’ practices, including overseeing the AICPA’s international relations initiatives and maintaining responsibility for AICPA activities related to quality assurance, professional ethics, financial reporting, assurance, taxation, and CPA firm services.

Ms. Coffey plays an integral role in developing the AICPA’s international strategy, which has helped develop new alliances, while supporting the value of the US CPA credential abroad. She is also responsible for developing relationships between the members of her teams and the professional members they serve.

Prior to joining the AICPA, Ms. Coffey was with PricewaterhouseCoopers' accounting and auditing practice.

Ms. Coffey is a member of the AICPA, the New Jersey Society of CPAs, the North Carolina Association of CPAs, and the American Society of Association Executives. Ms. Coffey is also a member of the Professional Practice Executive Committee of the Center for Audit Quality, an AICPA affiliate. Ms. Coffey is former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the SEC Historical Society, as well as its audit committee. She is currently a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Committee.

Ms. Coffey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut. She is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant.
