A Comparison Guide to the 2012 Statements of Membership Obligations (SMOs) Revisions

This Comparison Guide is designed to explain all the revisions to the Statements of Membership Obligations (SMOs) 1-7 (Revised). It provides an explanation of the revisions and serves as a useful tool to assist member organizations and their technical staff to identify changes and understand and address them. It is also helpful to PAOs seeking to become IFAC members or associates and donor organizations involved in development of the accountancy profession. The guide includes summaries of major revisions, full text of each revised SMO with references to the previous version, and notes indicating the nature and rationale for all changes.
