Peter Hollis

Peter Hollis is a chartered accountant and has been in practice as a sole practitioner in Sheffield, UK since 1990. He acts for a wide range of principally owner-managed businesses, individuals and charities.

Throughout this time, he has served his professional body, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), in a number of roles. He has chaired its General Practitioner Panel and Practice Committee, served six years on its lead technical committee the Technical Strategy Board, and has just completed eleven years as an elected member of its ruling Council. He is passionate about helping practitioners operate efficient and effective practices and ensuring that regulation is proportionate and scalable.

Previously he was an audit manager at Hawsons, a large local firm of chartered accountants where he mainly dealt with listed companies. He has served as a committee member and President of the Sheffield & District Society of Chartered Accountants, a member of the Court of the University of Sheffield, and as Treasurer of South Yorkshire Community Foundation.

Peter currently sits as a technical adviser to the IFAC SMPAG.
