Background
At its July 2006 meeting, the IAESB agreed to seek consulting expertise to develop a forward-looking information paper which aims to inform and encourage member bodies towards an output-based approach to CPD measurement. In researching this CPD measurement project, Professional Associations Research Network (PARN) recognized the advantages and disadvantages of input-based and output-based measurement approaches, and presented a range of effective approaches to CPD measurement for consideration by IFAC member bodies.
Issues
Issues that this project will address include:
- identifying an appropriate CPD learning activity cycle;
- identifying input-based and output-based approaches to the measurement of CPD;
- discussing measuring tools and methods;
- developing a model to explain CPD measurement; and
- analyzing approaches to CPD measurement by various types of professional bodies.
